SPR to offer female weight lifting program

Suffolk Parks and Recreation will be offering the “Women on Weights” fitness program and aim to help give a new perspective on a type of training that many women have avoided in the past. In this eight-week medium intensity program, participants will explore benefits, debunk myths, learn proper lifting techniques, and have fun while resistance training.
Classes will be held on Saturdays from 9 to 10 a.m. from Jan. 24 until March 14. The cost of the class is $20, and classes will be located in the fitness center at the East Suffolk Recreation Center on 138 South 6th Street. The class hosts a maximum of ten ladies.
