Police are investigating a rash of burglaries from vending machines along North Main Street that happened late Monday and early Tuesday.
The suspect — an older white male riding a bicycle — was observed on surveillance footage tampering with the machine at the Xpress Lube in the 700 block of North Main Street. He got about $30 from there, according to a police report.
He got about $15 from a machine at the Holiday Food Store, also in the 700 block.
His haul was larger at the Southern Food Store in the 2100 block, where he got about $150 and damaged the machines so badly they will require replacement, city spokeswoman Diana Klink said.
The incidents remain under investigation.
