Chesapeake police have released the name of a man they arrested following a vehicle and foot pursuit that crossed into Suffolk on Wednesday.
Dwayne Goodman Jr., 28, of the 1800 block of Hosier Road in Suffolk, is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, felony eluding, hit and run and driving on a suspended license.
Police say he failed to stop at a routine traffic stop in Chesapeake. They pursued him into Suffolk, where he crashed at the Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
He allegedly fled into a nearby wooded area, where a police dog found him. Two nearby schools were locked down briefly before dismissal.
