Reid graduates from unit training

Army Private Second Class Nicholas C. Reid graduated from Infantry One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Ga., on Sept. 5.
The soldier completed an intensive, 14-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Army core values, physical fitness, and infantry basic warfare principles and skills.
Reid is a sophomore at Virginia Commonwealth University and is a member of VCU’s Army ROTC detachment and the Virginia Army National Guard. He is eligible to contract in the Simultaneous Membership Program, where he is seeking a commission as an Army officer in the class of 2017.
Reid is the son of Col. and Mrs. Jenks Reid, U.S. Army (Ret.), of North Suffolk. He is a 2013 graduate of Nansemond Suffolk Academy.
