Nansemond River High School came up short in a close match with Western Branch High School, falling 325-332 at Cahoon Plantation Golf Club on Thursday.
Warriors junior Brian Russell produced a strong performance as the lowest scorer for his team on the day with a 77. Junior Ryan Fischer shot an 84, junior Andrew Halmrast was right behind with an 85 and senior Leo Outland rounded out NR’s top four with an 86.
Next on the schedule for Nansemond River is a Sept. 9 match against Lakeland High School at Sleepy Hole Golf Course.
