A Suffolk woman was sentenced Monday to 15 years in prison for producing child pornography and obstruction of justice.
Sierra Danyelle Halsey, 23, conspired with others to produce the child pornography, which included a 1-year-old and 5-year-old, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
U.S. District Judge Robert G. Doumar handed down the ruling. Halsey pleaded guilty on May 5.
According to court documents, Halsey became involved in the conspiracy when she was contacted by co-conspirator Robert Harold Scott Jr. under his online identity of “Mike Pyro.”
Scott would communicate with women in the area to set up “sex parties,” where he said the women would work as prostitutes and Scott would pay them for their services.
But in reality, according to the press release, Scott would not pay them and sometimes would extort the women by threatening to publish the explicit videos online.
In addition to the adult parties, Scott was conspiring with Halsey and other women to produce child pornography, according to the release. Scott would request the women to produce child pornography and named specific sex acts he wanted done on camera. Halsey complied in return for the promise of money.
Halsey also obstructed justice by deleting electronic evidence at the behest of Scott after he was arrested last year, according to the release.
Halsey will be on supervised release for the rest of her life following her sentence.
This case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations. Assistant U.S. Attorney Elizabeth M. Yusi prosecuted the case.
