The Suffolk Humane Society will host its third pet pantry from 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 23 at Mike Duman Auto Sales, 2300 Godwin Blvd., Suffolk.
SHS members will provide food and other pet items to individuals as long as supplies last during those hours on a first-come, first-served basis.
Donations of food or other items can be made at the SHS office, 4300 Nansemond Parkway in Driver, prior to Aug. 23.
“We know that many people are having a challenging time making ends meet, and we want to help them provide for their pets,” said Michele Thames, executive director of Suffolk Humane. “We know that pets are defenseless and cannot help themselves. We want to assist people so that they can keep their pets, and we hope this will help in a small way.”
