Grant process announced

The Suffolk Foundation has announced the beginning of its competitive grant cycle for 2014.
Organizations that are tax-exempt under the 501c3 Internal Revenue Code in Suffolk and surrounding communities are eligible to apply for a grant. The proposed project or program must be available to or benefit Suffolk residents.
Grants may be awarded in a wide range of areas, including human needs, the arts, education, health and the environment. Last year, the Foundation awarded $105,000 in grants to 25 agencies.
The distribution committee will grant funds with respect to the community’s overall needs.
The Foundation has distributed more than $2.5 million in grants since 2008.
Grant applications are available for download at www.suffolkfoundation.org or can be requested by emailing Executive Director William Hill at bhill@suffolkfoundation.org.
