Police seek hit and run suspect

Police are seeking the public’s assistance identifying a suspect involved in a hit and run on Saturday.
Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect in the Rent-N-Roll in the 900 block of North Main Street about 2:33 p.m. As he left the business, his vehicle struck another vehicle in the parking lot, causing extensive damage, according to a city press release.
He was driving a burgundy or maroon GMC Yukon SUV, model year early 2000s, with North Carolina tags with the first letters either OK or OC and the last three digits 060.
He is described as a black male in his late 20s to mid 30s, about 6 feet 3 inches, wearing a white shirt, tan boots and camouflage pants. He also has close-cropped hair and a thin beard.
Anyone who has information is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or text the keyword SPDVATIP and the tip to 274637 (CRIMES). Tipsters never have to give their names or appear in court, and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
