The visiting Nansemond River High School boys’ soccer team defeated King’s Fork High School 2-0 on Friday.
Warriors sophomore Yousef Al-Sarraf scored both goals, while junior Tommy Lowry and senior Dustin Telles combined for a shut out, the team’s third straight.
“It was a hard fought game, King’s Fork definitely came to play,” NR head coach Dustin Tordoff stated in a text message.
The Bulldogs (1-4-1) were playing without senior team captain Oludare Olugbemi, who had a prior engagement.
Nansemond River (4-2) did not capitalize on its offensive opportunities until about 15 minutes remained in the game.
