While other schools were playing in their third game of the season on Thursday, King’s Fork High School’s softball team was finally getting its 2014 season started.
After waiting out various delays due to weather, the Lady Bulldogs were victorious over host Deep Creek High School by the score of 8-2.
King’s Fork junior Shaina Holland was impressive offensively, going 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a triple, five runs batted in and two runs scored. Junior pitcher Sydney Wash threw nine strikeouts while claiming the win on the mound.
The Lady Bulldogs (1-0, 0-0) were set to host Indian River High School on Friday.
