A special election will be held after School Board member Diane Foster announced her retirement from representing the Sleepy Hole borough, school district spokeswoman Bethanne Bradshaw has confirmed.

During Thursday’s School Board meeting, Foster said that April’s meeting would be her last.

Her mother is moving in with her and her husband, and the family bought another home in the Chuckatuck borough that is more suitable, Foster said.

It has not yet been decided how Foster’s seat will be filled leading up to the special election, Bradshaw stated in an email.
