Helen Lee Hardy, 73, died Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of Cecil Pittman and Blanche Randall. She was preceded in death by her sister, Susie Mae Randall.

She attended East Suffolk High School. She retired from Smithfield Packing Company as a laborer. Ms. Hardy was a former member of Diamond Grove Baptist Church, where she served as the president of the senior choir and recently joined Christian Home Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Freda Bland, of Rushmere, Angelia Wells (Timothy) and Shonda Hardy, both of Suffolk; two sons, Ryan Hardy (Natarsha), of Smithfield, and Leslie Randall (Darnell), of Windsor; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; aunt, Thelma Allen; two nieces; two nephews; other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Friday, March 14, 2014, at Christian Home Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Wendell Waller. Interment will be in Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery.
