Media department earns awards

The city’s Department of Media and Community Relations recently received honors for the video it produced for the 2013 City Council retreat and other projects.
The department was honored with a Gold Award in the 2014 Association of Marketing and Communication Professional International AVA Digital Awards Competition for the video, which highlighted progress the city has made on building projects, public safety and quality of life, among other areas.
The video was recognized in the Video Production/Government category. It can be viewed on the city’s YouTube channel at youtu.be/NCA7ZiNWwPw.
The department also received a pair of awards in the 2013 APEX Awards for Publication Excellence.
A video public service announcement for the Love Local, Buy Suffolk campaign was highlighted in the Campaigns, Programs and Plans: Government Agency Communications category. Featuring Mayor Linda T.
