Lennis Milteer Collins passed away Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, after a brief illness.

She was born in Nansemond County and was the daughter of the late Ponnie and Sallie Milteer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip A. Collins, and two brothers, Felton Milteer Sr. and Luther W. Milteer Sr. She was a faithful member of Antioch United Church of Christ in Suffolk. She retired from Planters Peanut Company after 45 years of service.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two brothers, Eugene (Doretha) Milteer and Curtis (Sarah) Milteer, four sisters-in-law; Elsie Milteer, of Suffolk, Evelyn Collins, Anna Collins, and Eloise Hall, of Maryland; four stepsisters, Selena Copeland, Mary Walston, Louvenia White and Odelia Hortilosa, of Suffolk; one stepbrother, Earl (Thelma) Faulk, of Suffolk, and cousin, Kermit Green, of Portsmouth; goddaughter, Shadalyn Barnes, of Suffolk; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A visitation with family will be held Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Crocker Funeral Home Inc. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at Antioch United Church of Christ with the Rev. Jarvis Jones officiating.
