IWA drops two games

Williamsburg Christian Academy continued its high-scoring ways, defeating Isle of Wight Academy 59-20 in Isle of Wight on Tuesday.
The Eagles, in sole possession of first place in the Metro Athletic Conference, got 17 points from Devon Nosaka and 14 from lanky post player Xavier Green. No IWA player scored more than four points.
The Chargers’ reserves filled in amply for the team’s starting five. They played the Eagles’ backups to a 9-7 IWA advantage in the fourth quarter.
IWA dropped to 4-14, 2-9 in the Metro. WCA advanced to 10-1 in the conference, 17-7 overall.
On Saturday night, IWA was outgunned by Atlantic Shores Christian School, 75-25, at home. No Chargers scored in double figures in a game that saw the Seahawks rush to a 16-0 lead in the first 5:38 of the opening quarter.
Atlantic Shores, playing without leading scorer Aaron Ferguson, got 22 points from Isaiah Cotton and 14 from Shawn Coleman. The Chargers’ 25 points was their lowest output this year, prior to Tuesday’s showing.
Atlantic Shores ran its record to 12-9, 8-2.
