Michael Britt and Britt-Quinn Enterprise Inc. are seeking interested participants, ages 14-18, to play basketball in a community event to be held on Jan. 3 at the Salvation Army’s Robert W. Harrell Jr. Physical Health and Education Center on Bank Street.
Britt currently has two teams lined up and is hoping to get a total of six that will play full-court basketball games.
“The first six teams that we can get, we’re going to go with it,” he said. “We’d like to get a girls’ team, if at all possible.”
Britt wants to use the event to provide confidence and an opportunity for those who currently lack both.
“I’m trying to target those kids that are not playing high school basketball,” he said.
He is also looking to get some older, former basketball players out who could provide mentorship for the participants.
