A North Carolina man was charged with reckless driving following an early-morning accident Tuesday on Holland Road.

Shawn Mebane, 38, of Reidsville, was driving a tractor-trailer in the 6000 block of Holland Road eastbound when he lost control and struck a power pole about 3:25 a.m. He was not injured, but the crash knocked out power to about 100 homes in the area.

Part of the road was closed as police investigated and cleaned up the crash.
