NRHS sweeps away Phantoms

The No. 3 Nansemond River High School boys’ volleyball team made short work of No. 6 Phoebus High School in the opening round of the Ironclad Conference 18 tournament on Monday.
The Warriors won 25-6, 25-15, 25-9 at Heritage High School.
Nansemond River senior Adrian Drew had nine aces and six kills, sophomore Josh Tomovik had seven kills and six aces and senior DJ Anders had six kills.
Warriors head coach James Vann began the game with his starters, but said, “I was able to play a bunch of guys in the second game.”
The Warriors (8-10) advance to play No. 2 Heritage, which will have the home court advantage as host, tonight at 5 p.m.
