Cavaliers go distance with Patriots

The fifth-seeded Lakeland High School boys’ volleyball team played No. 4 Denbigh High School a full five sets in the first round of the Ironclad Conference 18 tournament on Monday at Heritage High School.
After winning the first two sets, 27-25, 25-17, the Cavaliers went on to lose three straight, 20-25, 27-29, 10-15, to end their season.
Ryan Stalnaker led Lakeland with 30 assists and five aces. Nolan Knight Jr. was particularly strong on offense, accruing 18 kills to go with three aces, while Jeff Knight chipped in nine kills.
The Cavs ended the season with a 6-20 record overall, 4-7 in the conference.
