Alma Marie Hunter, 73, of 319 Cedar St., died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at Kindred Healthcare Center. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late Percy Dildy and Nora Dildy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Wallace Hunter Sr.; her daughter, Tonya Baker; four brothers, James Dildy, Leon Dildy, Phillip Dildy and Redell Dildy.

She retired from Nansemond Pointe, Suffolk, after 30 years.

She leaves to cherish her memory five daughters, Marilyn Rawls (Eldon), Deborah Ralph (Rickey), Glenora Bess (Ricky), Lisa Cotton (Larry) and Karen Perkerson (Marc), all of Suffolk; three sons, Theodora Hunter Jr., (Linda), Lindell Hunter (Lisa) and Terry Hunter (Diane) all of Suffolk; four sisters, Helen Robertson (James), Janice Ralph (Vernon), Minnie Dildy and Velma Dildy; three brothers, Eugene Dildy (Christine), Westley Dildy and Jefferson Dildy (Luella), all of Suffolk; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Beatrice Hunter, Mary Dildy and Virginia Dildy; one brother-in-law, Thomas Hunter; a devoted friend, Mary Wilson; three aunts, Annie Wiggins, Ruby Edwards and Evelyn Collins; a devoted niece, Carla Dildy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at New Gospel Temple Church of God in Christ officiated by the Rev. Anthony Summerville. A wake will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at Palm Tree Baptist Church, 8165 Whaleyville Blvd., Suffolk, from 6 to 7 p.m. Condolences can be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
