Clarence Waters Jr., 74, of 5633 Trafalgar Arch, Portsmouth (formerly of Suffolk), died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at Maryview Nursing Care Center. He was a native of Nansemond County and the son of the late Clarence Waters Sr. and Elsie Waters. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Waters, and sister, Marie Waters.

He retired from Planters Peanut Company after 29 years and also was a delivery driver for Carters Furniture.

He leaves to cherish his memory four daughters, Deborah Waters, of Portsmouth, Tonya Waters, of Cartervilles, Ga., Lisa Keys (Larry), of Columbus, S.C., and Cassandra Waters, of Suffolk; two sisters, Ida Mae Madden (Laval) and Carrie Hill, of Baltimore, Md.; three brothers, Richard Waters, Lloyd T. Waters and Jasper Waters, all of Suffolk; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, in the chapel of Crocker Funeral Home officiated by Suffragan Bishop Madison Copeland. Interment will be in Waters Cemetery, Suffolk. A wake will be held on Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Crocker Funeral Home. Condolences can be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
