Lady Saints stretch win streak to 24

With each passing week, the Nansemond-Suffolk Academy girls’ volleyball team’s 2013 season becomes more and more incredible. The Lady Saints began this week where they left off last week, with another win, defeating host Hampton Roads Academy 25-12, 25-18, 25-15.
NSA has now won 24 matches in a row and in this span, they have not dropped a single set. In fact, 31 matches into the season, the Lady Saints have only lost five sets total.
Senior outside hitter Kaylor Nash had 14 kills, 12 digs and two blocks. Junior setter/libero Bridget Murphy produced a career high 38 digs, and junior middle blocker Caylin Harris led the Lady Saints with 17 kills.
Last Thursday, Nansemond-Suffolk trounced visiting Norfolk Collegiate 25-8, 25-8, 25-7.
Nash recorded her first triple-double of the season: 11 kills, 10 digs and 13 aces. Murphy added 11 digs and one ace, while junior setter Brooks Gillerlain had 30 assists and two aces.
Visiting the Collegiate School last Friday, the Lady Saints won 25-20, 25-11, 25-14.
Nash poured in 16 kills, 19 digs with one ace. Harris had 14 kills, eight digs and one ace, and Gillerlain tallied 42 assists.
Nansemond-Suffolk (29-2, 8-0) visits Norfolk Christian High School on Thursday.
