James Madison University’s nationally recognized marching band, the Marching Royal Dukes, has tapped two Suffolk freshmen to participate in this historic season.
Stuart Brazil, an undeclared major, will play in the trombone section. Spencer Jefferson, an athletic training major, will play in the tenor saxophone section.
The band at the Harrisonburg school begins this season with 485 members, the largest in its history. On the schedule for this season are performances at Montpelier, the estate of James Madison, and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
