Linwood Thaddeus Dillard

Linwood Thaddeus “Tee” Dillard, 77, of Portsmouth, went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 26, 2013, after a long illness. He was a native of Franklin and the son of the late Willis H. Dillard and Bessie L. Dillard; and brother, James H. Dillard.
Mr. Dillard retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. He was employed as a longshoreman and held positions at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was very active in his community and received many accolades and awards too numerous to name. He was a member of Corinth Chapel U.C.C.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Deborah D. Dillard, of Suffolk; his son, Linwood R. Dillard, of Portsmouth; one brother, Thurman Dillard; one sister, Barbara Dillard, of Suffolk; four grandchildren, Demetrius, Kearston, Jennifer and Daniel; four great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at noon, Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, in the chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. Interment will be in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
