The first ever John Yeates High School Alumni and Friends Reunion has been set for Oct. 18, the same weekend as the Driver Days festival.

Planned activities include a golf tournament, Boogie Bash and Buffet and more.

The multi-class reunion, for graduates from 1966 to 1990, was created as a way to get all John Yeates High School students from throughout the years together.

The golf tournament will tee off at 1 p.m. at Sleepy Hole Golf Course, and the party and dinner will take place from 4 to 11 p.m. The golf tournament will cost $50 per person, and the party and buffet dinner will be $30 in advance or $40 at the door. Lots of door prizes and a 50/50 drawing will be offered.

Golf tournament proceeds will benefit the American Legion Nansemond Post 88.

Tickets are on sale now at the Knot Hole Station, The Market in Eclipse, D.B. Bowles Jewelers, Saunders Supply in Chuckatuck or Arthur’s Store in Driver.
