The Nansemond River High School field hockey team spread the wealth on offense as each goal came from a different player in a 7-1 road victory over Indian River High School on Wednesday.
“I think they’re just really working as a team right now,” said Lady Warriors head coach Ali Mowry.
The Lady Warriors’ goals came from Ashley Hiltabrand, Juliana Stewart, Kimberly Bates, Claire Janek, Madison Janek, Amber Daubenspeck and KateLynn Hodgkiss.
Hiltabrand and Stewart each had an assist.
Nansemond River had nine penalty corners, scoring on four of them, and generating 21 shots on goal, while limiting the Lady Braves to one.
The Lady Warriors (2-1, 0-0) will play at home on Monday, facing conference and cross-town rival Lakeland High School (3-0, 0-0).
