The first Virginia State Golf Association Super Senior Four-Ball Championship came to a conclusion on Thursday, and Suffolk golfer J.P. Leigh was part of a tandem to finish tied for seventh place at Elizabeth Manor Golf and Country Club.
Leigh played on a team with Murray Rudisill of Portsmouth, and the pair reproduced their two-under round of 68 from Wednesday to finish with a total score of 136.
The winners of the event were Peter Jacobi of Arlington and Tom Flory of Madison, who shot two rounds of 66 to win with a total of 132.
Glenn Owens of Suffolk also competed with George Owens of Virginia Beach, and the pair finished with a two-day total of 152.
In the four-ball format, each player hits the ball to the hole, but only the best score is counted towards the team aggregate.
