Police are seeking a man who robbed the College Drive Walmart on Saturday afternoon.
The man, who was captured on surveillance cameras, went to the cash registers in the lawn and garden section, placed a small item on the counter and demanded money, city spokeswoman Debbie George said. He did not display any weapons but was given an unknown amount of money from the register.
The incident occurred around 4:20 p.m.
The suspect is described as a black male, late 30s to mid 40s, 5 feet 10 inches, 220 pounds, with short hair, facial hair and an earring. He was wearing a white tank top and black shorts with a stripe down the side, and Nike flip-flops with black socks.
The man fled to the parking lot and left in what appeared to be a maroon-colored Lincoln Town Car.
George said he is believed to be the same suspect being sought by Portsmouth police for robbing a Food Lion there on July 18.
