Man wrecks scooter Sunday afternoon

Suffolk police and rescue officials responded to a single-vehicle accident on White Marsh Road on Sunday afternoon when a man wrecked his scooter.
The accident happened in the 3200 block of White Marsh just after 4 p.m., according to a city press release. The 50-year-old male victim reported that a car was in his lane and caused him to run off the left side of the road into a ditch. He suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening and was airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital via Nightingale. He was conscious and alert at the time of transport, the release said.
The accident remains under investigation.
