Some tense moments along East Constance Road Friday evening turned out to be caused by an object that had fallen off a work truck.

A passerby called emergency dispatch about 5:47 p.m. to report what he thought might be a pipe bomb in the road. Police and firefighters responded and investigated the object, only to discover it was a harmless cylindrical item that probably fell off someone’s work truck.

The road was shut down for about 30 minutes while they investigated.
