A Windsor woman was injured Tuesday morning in a violent accident in the 2000 block of Lake Cohoon Road.
Kathleen Hope Cichorz, 54, was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the 7:49 a.m. crash, according to Suffolk spokeswoman Diana L. Klink. Rescue workers had to stabilize her vehicle and extricate Cichorz from it. She was taken by ambulance to Sentara Obici Hospital and then flown to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
According to Klink, the GMC pickup truck Cichorz was driving had flipped several times and then hit a ditch bank, coming to rest near a tree in the front yard of a home. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
