It’s likely fair to say that this May 19 was better for Officer James Winslow and his family than last May 19.
Winslow’s wife gave birth to the couple’s first child, Wyatt Matthew Winslow, on Sunday, the anniversary of the near-fatal beating Winslow suffered at the hands of a convicted felon whom he had pulled over for driving a stolen vehicle last year.
Wyatt, who weighed in at five pounds, three ounces, was born three weeks early.
“We’re excited on the newest addition to our family,” said Delegate Chris Jones, Winslow’s uncle, who has been a spokesman for the family. “What a wonderful way to celebrate starting the year after. We’re just so thankful, and we’re very blessed.”
