The parents of LaVerne Patrice Jones and John Henry Smith III proudly announce their children’s engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Elijah Forest Jones and the late Mary Doris Rawlings. The groom-to-be is the son of Mamie M. Smith and John H. Smith Jr.

Attendants will include father of the bride Elijah Jones, mother of the groom Mamie Smith, son of the bride Lavone Jones, son of the groom Lamont Smith, maid of honor Ritha Artist, best man Daryl Artist, as well as Joseph Wellons and Royalty Rawlings.

A wedding will be held at First Baptist Church on Mahan Street on June 21, with a reception at the Hilton Garden Inn Suffolk Riverfront. The couple will honeymoon in Key West.
