SUFFOLK — Gladys Belinda “Puddin” Porter, 62, of 1232 Truman Road, Suffolk, entered into eternal rest and peace April 29, 2013, at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Suffolk and daughter of the late Ruben and Gladys Warren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ruben Warren and Paul Scott, and by two grandchildren, Donnell Warren and Blessed Porter.

Mrs. Porter was a graduate of Southwestern High School. She was employed by Walmart for thirteen years. She was a member and the First Lady of Greater St. Stephen’s Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was church secretary and member of the Finance Committee and Pastor’s Aide Committee. She was also a member of Suffolk Chapter 31, Order of the Eastern Star.

She leaves to cherish fond and lasting memories to her beloved husband of 38 years, Elder Aron Porter Sr.; daughters, Rhonda Cowling and Regina Westbrook (Johnnie), of Suffolk; sons, Aron Porter Jr. (Nakisha) and Theotis Porter Sr. (Sarah), all of Suffolk; sister, Bernice Wiggins, of Suffolk; brothers, Thomas Scott and Willie Lee Warren (Beverly), of Suffolk; six grandchildren; one aunt, Mrs. Marie Arrington Sykes, of Suffolk; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at noon Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Tabernacle Christian Church, 2500 E. Washington St., Suffolk, officiated by Elder Aron Porter Sr. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will be at 1232 Truman Road, Suffolk.
