Mae Anna Sweat White

Mrs. Mae Anna Sweat White, 92, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2013. She was born on March 3, 1921, to the late Jollie and Margaret Sweat.

She attended Suffolk Public Schools and was a devoted member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Collin C. White Sr.; son, Collin White Jr.; sister, Thelma Langston; and a brother, Royland Sweat.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Richard White (Iris), of Brooklyn, N.Y., Otis White (Rose), of Suitland, Md., and Phillip White (Phyllis), of New Haven, Conn.; two daughters, Betty Jean Bagley (Henry), of Suffolk, and Juanita Gamble (Clarence), of Suffolk; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Lillian Copeland; close friend, Fannie Mae Cheeks; and many other relatives, friends and caregivers.

The White family would like to especially thank the Nansemond Pointe Rehabilitation Health Care Center.

Ms. White’s visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday from noon to 7 p.m., and the family will receive guests from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
