Lorraine H. Hardy departed this life on Thursday, March 7, 2013.

Hardy

She was born in Gates, N.C., on Feb. 3, 1929, to the late George and Ada Freeman Hall. She was predeceased by her husband, John L. Hardy Sr.; daughter, Charnna Hardy Jackson; her brother, George Earl Hall; and her sister, Addie Hall Sweatt. She was a faithful member of the Mt. Ararat Christian Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, John L. Hardy Jr. (Wanda); grandchildren, Audrey J. Spruill (Michael), Miracle Jackson and Christopher Jackson (Tarsha); eight great-grandchildren; her brother, Joseph Hall (Susie); her sisters, Lillie H. Long and Betty H. White (Vernon); brother-in-law, Otis L. Sweatt Sr.; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Copeland, Ruby Moore and Shirley Copeland; an aunt, Betty Manley; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral will be held at noon, Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Mt. Ararat Christian Church, Suffolk. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home Inc. is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
