Howard, VanPeeren wed

Allison Marie Howard and Todd Charles VanPeeren were married on Oct. 7, 2012, at The Smithfield Center, Smithfield, with Pastor Burt Pearce officiating, followed by dinner and dancing.
The bride is the daughter of Betty White Howard, of Suffolk, and the late Elbert Ray Howard, of Suffolk. She is the granddaughter of the late Ralph and Claudia White.
The groom is the son of Jeanné Jaeger, of Pickney, Mich., and David VanPeeren, of Reed City, Mich.
The bride was escorted down the aisle by her mother and her teenage nephew, Austin Holland. The bride’s sister, Pamela Holland, served as her faithful maid of honor, and her bridesmaids were childhood friends Megan (Debranski) Kelhart, of Alexandria, Va., and Leigh (Morris) Parks, of Suffolk, friend Michelle Thames of Suffolk, friend and former college roommate Kathryn (Kovacs) Waddle, of Bristol, Va., and sister of the groom, Amanda VanPeeren of Reed City, Mich.
The groom’s father, David VanPeeren, served as his best man, and his groomsmen were his brother, Matthew VanPeeren, of White Cloud, Mich., the bride’s nephew, Austin Holland, of Suffolk, and friends Kyle DuFault and John Huddleston, of Chesapeake, Va., and Larry Thames, of Suffolk.
The flower girl was Miss Kristina VanPeeren, the groom’s daughter. The ever helpful mistress of ceremonies was Rita (Gray) Drier, of Suffolk and Florida, along with the help of Nancy King and Nancy Sharp of Suffolk.
The bride and groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at their home on Oct. 6, 2012, catered by WKW Catering of Suffolk.
After honeymooning in Savannah, Ga., the Cayman Islands and Jamaica, the happy couple resides in Chesapeake.
