January 5, 2013
Judith Anne Behrens, 74, of Suffolk, passed away on Jan. 5, 2013.
A native of Framingham Mass., she was the daughter of the late Robert Emerson Bosworth and Francis Bosworth. She was a graduate of Framingham High School and Framingham Sate College.
Judy enjoyed many good times with her family — camping, skiing, biking and barbeques around the pool. As a longtime member of Plymouth Church, she participated in many activities, such as singing in the choir, and will be remembered by friends for her service and caring for many throughout her life.
After college, she spent two years teaching in the Whitingham, Vt., school system, where she met her husband. Upon moving to Virginia, she attended Southside Baptist Church, where her welcoming smile will be greatly missed.
She was also an active participant in the Framingham Heart Study.
Judy is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Ernest Henry Behrens. She is also survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Marcy E. Shaffer (Jeffrey) of Suffolk and Ruth Ann de Jesus (Edward) of Somersworth, N.H.; and seven grandchildren, Edward de Jesus, Andrew Shaffer, Joshua Shaffer, David de Jesus, Matthew Shaffer, Alexander de Jesus and Katheryn de Jesus. She also leaves a brother-in-law, Edward H. Behrens of Cheshire, Mass., and his family, along with other relatives and close friends.
She was predeceased by a grandson, Peter Shaffer.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Southside Baptist Church at 2 p.m., with Pastor Jerry McLeod officiating. Friends may visit after the service and at other times at her residence.
Memorial donations may be made to the Southside Baptist Church Building Fund, Plymouth Church in Framingham, Heifer Project International or to the charity of your choice.
R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington Street, Suffolk, is serving the family. Condolences may be registered at www.rwbakerfh.com.
