A boy at King’s Fork Middle School has been suspended and recommended for expulsion after bringing a BB gun to school.

The weapon was found in a bookbag inside a locker Friday after an assistant principal was told that a sixth-grader might have a BB gun, district spokeswoman Bethanne Bradshaw stated in an email.

“A fellow sixth-grader heard the student may have brought a BB gun and told a teacher, who reported it to the administration,” she wrote.

“The school was placed on lock down. The suspect’s locker was searched by an administrator and a BB gun was located inside a bookbag and recovered.”

There were no incidents or threats involving the weapon, she added.
