TowneBank has announced in a press release the appointment of a new chairman and CEO, as well as a new president, to its mortgage division.
Jacqueline B. Amato, the new chairman and CEO, previously served as president of TowneBank Mortgage since its establishment in 2000, overseeing an expansion from Hampton Roads to Raleigh, N.C., Richmond and Roanoke, the release states.
Meanwhile, J.G. Carter will join TowneBank Mortgage as president. He has 29 years of experience in the mortgage/banking industry, and was most recently the executive vice president of correspondent lending for SunTrust Mortgage, the release adds.
“I have known and worked with J.G. for 20 years and am excited to add his knowledge and expertise to our team as we continue to grow our mortgage operations throughout the Eastern Seaboard,” Amato stated.
“As we evaluated the rapid growth and expansion of our mortgage operation, we recognized the need for additional leadership to ensure our continued commitment to quality,” TowneBank Chairman and CEO Bob Aston added.
“Ms. Amato and Mr. Carter will work closely together in supporting our existing operations and in seeking new growth opportunities.”
