Suffolk’s Merritt prepares for Olympics races

Suffolk’s LaShawn Merritt will compete in the 400m and the 4x400m relay in the Summer Olympics in London this weekend and next week.
The first round of the men’s 400m is scheduled to begin at 5:35 a.m. Eastern Time on Saturday, with tape-delayed television coverage set for 11:15 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on NBC.
The final round will be televised during the network’s 8 p.m. primetime slot on Monday.
The qualifying round for the men’s 4x400m relay will take place at 6:35 a.m. Aug. 9, with television coverage scheduled for noon that day. The final round will be televised during primetime on Aug. 10.
