Diana Barlow Hill

Diana “Dee” Barlow Hill, 74, passed away July 22, 2012. She was born in Norfolk, Va., the daughter of the late Charlotte Bishop Barlow and Richard Algernon Barlow. She was predeceased by her former husbands, George T. Shorter and William W. Hill Sr. She was a 1955 graduate of Maury High School. She would later work and retire after 25 years as a secretary in the insurance industry. Dee had dual church membership at Suffolk Christian Church in Suffolk, Va., and First Presbyterian Church of Haines City, Fla. At Suffolk Christian Church, she served as former president for both the West Memorial Bible Class and the Afternoon Circle. Dee was also very active in the Sassy Red Hatters of Suffolk. She served as a former queen before moving to Florida and participated in numerous other groups there.

Dee is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Stone Linkenhoker, of Suffolk; sons and daughters-in-law, James Richard Stone and Kathy, of Chesapeake, Glenn Wesley Stone and Cheryl, of Suffolk; grandchildren, Colby and Travis Linkenhoker, Leah and Wesley Stone; great-grandchild, Conrad Michael Linkenhoker.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Michael D. Halley officiating. Dee will be available for viewing Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory. Memorial donations may be made to Suffolk Christian Church Music Fund at P.O.
