A Suffolk man who works for a Portsmouth school was arrested Thursday on charges of taking indecent liberties with a child.
Kevin Brown, 48, assistant director of student services at Stephen H. Clarke Academy, was indicted by a grand jury on four counts of indecent liberties with a child by a person in custodial or supervisory relationship.
The arrest took place about 2 p.m. at the school in the 2800 block of Turnpike Road.
Members of the Portsmouth Police Department’s Special Victims Unit had taken part in a month-long investigation beginning in April, which culminated in the charges, according to a news release from Portsmouth police.
Investigation revealed Brown allegedly approached a 16-year-old victim about sexual encounters, but no sexual contact was made. The events occurred between November 2011 and April 2012.
Brown’s last known address is in the 2000 block of Augusta Court in Suffolk.
