Golf can be a fun sport for players of just about any level of skill. But as one learns the skills, techniques, basic rules, etiquette and course management to become more competitive, it becomes even more exciting to play.
In an effort to instill a little bit of that excitement in a new generation of golfers, the Suffolk Parks & Recreation will hold a Hook-A-Kid On Golf program from 9 a.m. to noon July 16-20 at the Sleepy Hole Golf Course.
The program is open to boys and girls ages seven to fifteen.
The fee is $150 for Tee Beginner Level and $125 for Green Advanced Level participants.
Included in the fee for the Tee Beginner Level is a set of clubs, bag, hat, and handbook. Included in the fee for the Green Advanced Level is a bag, hat, shirt, and handbook.
Registration begins April 2 and runs through July 13. Participants may register online at www.suffolkva.us/parks or at the Parks & Recreation Administrative Office, located at 134 South 6th St.
