Michael Anthony Mizelle Sr., 56, of 610 Harrison St., Suffolk, departed this life on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at his residence. He was born to the late Floyd Mizelle Sr. and Lucille Artis Mizelle. He is predeceased by his loving wife, the Rev. Lessie Boone Mizelle.

He attended John F. Kennedy High School. He was self-employed and was dedicated to his profession. Michael had a passion for fishing.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a daughter, Leslie A. Mizelle, of Suffolk; a son, Michael A. Mizelle Jr., of Suffolk; a stepson, Anthony “Tony” Boone; grandchildren, Travon Pittman, Quashan and Quanisha Bailey, Zayajah Boone; one sister, Mildred Holloway, of Chuckatuck, Va.,; two brothers, Floyd Mizelle Jr. (Mary), of New York, and Keith Mizelle, of Suffolk; sister-in-law, Pinky Boone, of Portsmouth, Va.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at St. Mark AME Zion Church officiated by the Rev. Wilmers Williams. Interment will be in Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery.
