Bonnie Jernigan Gooding, 53, of Suffolk, Va., passed away on Feb. 8, 2012. A native of Nansemond, Va., she was the daughter of the late Woodrow A. Jernigan and Ora Jean Wyatt Jernigan. She was also predeceased by her brother, Robert Lee Jernigan. Bonnie was a school teacher’s assistant in the Suffolk Public School System.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Robert E. Gooding Jr.; son, Nathan Gooding; sister and brother-in-law, Shelia D. and Jim Ward Jr.; brother and sister-in-law, J. Roland Jernigan and Lauren C. Jernigan; mother and father-in-law, Robert and Carrie Gooding; sisters-in-law, Francis Gooding and Barbara Dale; brother-in-law Steven Gooding; nieces Ashley Daughtrey, Lindsey Jernigan, Elizabeth Ward, Michelle Viars, Christine Dale, Carrie Dale and Jennifer Dale; nephews, Chad Jernigan and Wyatt Jernigan.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, with the Rev. Ray Hampton and the Rev. Ronnie Wyatt officiating.
