A judge on Monday sentenced a man to 25 years in prison for the rape and molestation of a 9-year-old family member.

Michael Emmett Taylor assaulted the girl in October and November 2009, according to prosecutor Amanda Burks.

The girl’s grandmother reportedly found a note addressed to the victim’s mother telling her about the assaults, and the grandmother gave the note to the victim’s mother, who then reported it to police.
