Suffolk police are seeking a blue-character-loving suspect in a credit card theft that occurred on New Year’s Eve.
On Dec. 31, the victim accidentally left his wallet on a sales counter at Citi Trends, 900 N. Main St. When he realized his wallet was missing, he went back to the store only to discover his wallet was not there.
He then called his credit card company, which informed him the card had just been used at Levinson’s 14K Plus at 918 N. Main St.
Surveillance video from Citi Trends shows a black male wearing a blue shirt that appears to depict the Kool-Aid Man’s face and a blue baseball cap that police said resembled Cookie Monster.
He also wore a white and gray jacket.
Surveillance video at Levinson’s shows the man with another black male and two black females. The suspect makes a purchase at Levinson’s using the victim’s card.
Suffolk police are interested in talking with the alleged offender and those who were with him at the time of the incident. Anyone who has information is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Callers to Crime Line never have to give their names or appear in court, and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
