A single-vehicle crash early Friday morning left a Suffolk man dead from his injuries, according to Suffolk police.

Officers were called to the scene of the crash on Manning Road near Liberty Springs Road at about 5:30 a.m.

The driver of the single vehicle involved was Bobby Joe Ryan, 39, of the 3900 block of Manning Road, according to Suffolk spokesperson Debbie George, who stated in a press release that Ryan had died at the scene.

Ryan was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Camaro northbound on Manning Road when the vehicle ran off the road on the right, hit a ditch, rolled and came to rest on its side in the ditch.

According to the police report, Ryan was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, and he was partially ejected from his vehicle.
